Question
I am unable to select DELETE PROJECT, it is grayed out. How can I delete this project?
Answer
You will not be able to delete a project if it contains an invoice, invoiced hours or locked time registrations. A tooltip in the project's Settings will display the reason the project cannot be deleted.
To find your project's reason
- Open the project and go to the Settings > General page.
- Scroll down to DELETE PROJECT.
- Hover on DELETE PROJECT. The tooltip will display more information.
Project has one or more invoiced time registrations
It is not possible to delete a project if it contains an invoice. To enable DELETE PROJECT you must first delete the invoice/s.
To delete an invoice
- From the project's Financials > Invoicing or from Finance > All Invoices, identify the invoice.
- Update the invoice status to Draft.
- Using the three dots at the far right of the invoice, s elect Delete.
- Return to the project > Settings > General.
- Click DELETE PROJECT, now appearing in red.
- Confirm and Delete.
- A notification will display at lower left indicating the project has been deleted.
Project has one or more locked time registrations
If you use Timesheet Approval, approved timesheets may prevent you from deleting a project. To enable DELETE PROJECT, first unlock the approved time registrations.
To unlock time approved time registrations
- From Timesheet Approval, identify any approved time registrations within the project.
- Use the red "X" to reject all applicable time registrations.
- Return to the project > Settings > General.
- Click DELETE PROJECT, now appearing in red.
- Confirm and Delete.
- A notification will display at lower left indicating the project has been deleted.
