Question
In Scoping, my Actual Billable Time and Expenses does not align with the Planned Billable Time estimates I scope when creating my project. Why?
Answer
It is likely that the team members logging time on the tasks have a Project role that is different than the Task Role used to determine the Planned Billable Time Estimates. Check the Team page in your project's Settings to confirm the Task Role aligns with the Project role of the assigned team members.
If these roles are different, you will see differences in Planned and Actual Billable Time values. This is because Scoping uses the Task Role to estimate Planned Billable Time while Actual Billable Time and Expenses is based on the Project Role of the team member registering time on the task. If the team member does not have a defined project role in the project's settings, the system will default to the Main role of the team member registering time on the task.
