September’s release gives you more flexibility in how you bill, clearer insight into project results, and more ways to get work done.
Fixed fee Deliverables now work inside Time & Materials projects, so you can price the things your clients are buying while still tracking the time behind them. The new 6-minute rounding increment lets you bill in the tenths of an hour many clients expect. And to see how it all adds up, the Project Performance report now breaks results down by Deliverable.
Day-to-day collaboration gets easier too, with a richer task modal that supports multi-file uploads, inline images, hyperlinks, and emoji reactions. Wherever you’re working, you also have new options: a rebuilt Forecast PSA mobile app for iOS and Android, and the Forecast MCP server, which lets you ask questions and make updates using Ask AI or your own AI assistant.

Feature Details
Six-Minute Time Rounding Increment
You can now round time entries to the nearest 6 minutes, in addition to the existing options (1 minute, 15 minutes, 1 hour, 1 day).
Many professional services firms bill in tenths of an hour — the standard convention across professional services work.
Previously, the closest available rounding option was 15 minutes, which could overstate shorter time entries. The 6-minute increment lets teams capture and bill time in the unit their clients already expect to see.

Deliverables in Project Performance Standard Report
The Project Performance report now includes reporting broken down by Deliverable, so you can see how each Deliverable on a project is performing.
This gives you visibility into which deliverables are taking the most time, how accurately they're being estimated and priced, and which are the most and least profitable.
On projects using Deliverables, results are grouped like this: Project > Deliverable > Phase > Role
On projects not using Deliverables, grouping stays the same as before: Project > Phase > Role

Task Modal Improvements
We've upgraded the task modal with a richer editing experience and a new way to manage task monitoring defaults across your company.
Multi-file upload
Select several files at once and attach them all in a single action. If one file in the batch fails to upload, you'll be told which one — the rest still go through.
Attach files already on the project
Instead of re-uploading a file you've already added to the project, you can now pick it from a file picker that shows your project's folder structure and supports selecting multiple files at once.
The file is linked, not duplicated, so the same file can live on more than one task.
Hyperlinked text
Turn selected text into a clickable link instead of pasting a raw URL into your description or comment. Any existing raw URLs will keep working as before.
Inline images
When you paste an image into the description or comment box, it will now display inline, right where you pasted it — giving you a true in-line editing experience.
It will also still appear as an attachment at the bottom of the task, alongside your other files.
Previously, pasting an image only attached it to the task; it wouldn't show up inline in the text itself. This update adds that inline display, while keeping the attachment behavior you're used to.
Inline files of other types
The same inline placement now extends to other file types beyond images.
Emoji Reactions on Task Comments
Add emoji reactions to task comments to quickly acknowledge, respond to, or react to updates without adding a new comment.
For Jira-connected customers
If your task content crosses between Forecast and Jira, note the following:
Images from Jira continue to appear in Forecast as a placeholder rather than the image itself — this is unchanged.
Inline images and files added in Forecast will appear on the Jira side as a link back to view them in Forecast, rather than the file itself.
Company-wide task monitoring settings
We've renamed Admin > Project Priorities to Admin > Projects.
The page now has two tabs: Priority levels, where you'll find your existing priority configuration, and Task monitoring.
From the Task monitoring tab, Admins can set a company-wide preference that allows task owners and followers to be added on projects.

Fixed Fee Deliverables in Time & Materials Projects
You can now bill a set price for specific pieces of work, such as a workshop series, a website, or a report, within a Time & Materials project. Each fixed fee Deliverable earns exactly its agreed fee, regardless of the hours that go into it, while the rest of the project continues to bill as Time & Materials.
Setting up a fixed fee Deliverable
Turn on Deliverables for the project. Go to Project Settings › Tasks > Deliverables and switch it on. You only need to do this once per project.
Add your Deliverables. If the project doesn't use Baseline, go to the Scoping page and select Manage Deliverables, next to Manage Phases.
If the project uses Baseline, manage Deliverables from the Baseline page as you do today. Give each Deliverable the name your client would recognize from the contract.
Enter a price for the ones you're billing as a fixed fee. Open a Deliverable and enter an amount in Price.
How revenue works
A fixed fee Deliverable earns exactly its fee, no more and no less, regardless of how many hours go into it. What changes over time is when that fee is recognized.
- The fee follows the work: Forecast spreads the fee across time in proportion to the value of the work associated with the Deliverable. If half the work lands in June, half the fee is recognized in June. This mirrors how Fixed Price projects already behave.
- Before any work is associated: A priced Deliverable with nothing associated shows its full fee as Remaining Work Revenue and zero Actual Revenue, spread across the project's dates until work is added.
- Expenses come off the top: Billable expenses on the Deliverable are counted at face value, and the remainder of the fee is earned by time.
Where to see it
On the project's Budget page, Revenue Recognition now breaks down beneath the total into Time & Materials and Fixed Price (Deliverables).
Expand either one to see Time versus Expenses, and expand Fixed Price (Deliverables) to see each Deliverable's contribution. The two always add up to your total.
Invoicing fixed fee Deliverables
A fixed fee Deliverable is invoiced as a single line for the fee, rather than as the hours and expenses underneath it. You can bill it all at once or in installments, from the project's own Invoicing page.
Seeing what's outstanding
The project's Invoicing page includes a Fixed Price Deliverables section listing each one, with Fixed Fee, Invoiced, and Remaining to Invoice columns.
The Confirmed Revenue card now separates Actual Billable Time, Billable Expenses, and Fixed Price Deliverables Revenue, so you can see where revenue is coming from.
Billing the full fee
- Start an invoice as normal.
- In the line-generation step, select the Deliverable from the list of Deliverables with an amount left to bill.
- The Deliverable is added as a line at its remaining amount. Once a Deliverable is fully invoiced, it no longer appears in the list.
Billing in installments
To bill part of the fee, for example 50% up front and 50% on completion, select the Deliverable and edit the unit price on its invoice line. The line is pre-filled with the full remaining amount, and quantity is fixed at one.
For example, on a £10,000 Deliverable, select it and change the unit price to £5,000. On a later invoice, select it again and the line pre-fills at the remaining £5,000. In the meantime, the Invoicing page shows £5,000 invoiced and £5,000 remaining.
Forecast won't let the total billed across all invoices exceed the fee. If you enter too much, the field explains why and the invoice can't be saved until it's corrected.
What won't appear as separate billable items
Time and expenses associated with a fixed fee Deliverable are covered by the fee, so they don't appear as separate billable items on the project Invoicing page, in company-wide un invoiced totals, or on generated T&M invoices. This prevents your client from being charged twice.
Billing safeguards
Once an amount has been invoiced, some changes would leave your revenue out of step with what your client was actually billed. Forecast prevents these changes and explains why:
- Lowering a price below the invoiced amount: You can raise a Deliverable's price, or lower it as far as the amount already invoiced, but no further.
- Deleting an invoiced Deliverable: A Deliverable that has been invoiced can't be deleted. To remove it, delete the invoice first.
- Moving already-billed work into a fixed fee Deliverable: Tasks or expenses already invoiced as T&M can't be associated with a fixed fee Deliverable.
- Pricing a Deliverable that holds billed work: A Deliverable containing work already invoiced as T&M can't be given a price.
See the full release notes for this feature for the complete list of what's changed and where you'll see it across the app.
Mobile Rebuild
The Forecast PSA mobile app has been rebuilt from the ground up for iOS and Android. It's faster, more reliable, and gives you more ways to manage your work from your phone. Here's what you can do in the new app:
- Log and submit time: All of the time registration features you rely on have carried over, so you can view your timesheet, log time, edit or delete entries, and submit your timesheet for approval.
- See all of your work in one place: The new My Work view lists every task assigned to you across all of your projects, sorted by due date with overdue tasks highlighted.
- Focus on what matters: Filter your task list by project, sprint, or status.
- Update tasks on the go: Edit task details directly from the task view, including dates, estimates, priority, assignees, and workflow column. Changes sync straight to Forecast PSA on the web.
- Create new tasks: Add tasks from your phone with as much or as little detail as you need.
- Stay up to date: Pull down on any list to see the latest updates from your team.

Forecast PSA MCP Server
You can now work with Forecast using plain language. Ask AI is built right into Forecast, and the Forecast MCP server also lets you connect the AI assistant your organization already uses.
Ask questions about your projects and team, or make updates across multiple tasks in a single request, without building reports or opening screen after screen. Every request respects your existing Forecast permissions, and no change is made until you’ve reviewed and approved it.
Ask AI, built into Forecast
Click Ask AI in the top-right corner of Forecast and describe what you need in your own words. The assistant works out the rest.
Connect your own AI assistant
Because MCP (Model Context Protocol) is an open standard, the Forecast MCP server isn't tied to a single AI tool. If your organization already uses a compatible assistant, you can add Forecast to your existing setup instead of adopting something new. Supported assistants include Claude, ChatGPT, Perplexity, Grok, Mistral Le Chat, and Microsoft Copilot Studio.
You can also combine Forecast data with other sources connected to your assistant, like email or accounting systems, in a single conversation.
Ask questions about your work
Get a quick read on how things are going without building a report or opening multiple screens.
Try asking:
- "Which projects are at risk right now?"
- "Who has availability next month?"
- "How much non-billable time was logged on the (Project Name) project this quarter?"
Take action in a single request
Handle updates that would normally mean opening task after task.
Try asking:
- "Reassign all of (Team Member Name)'s tasks on the (Project Name) project to (Team Member Name)"
- "Push the (Phase Name) phase on the (Project Name) project back by 2 weeks"
- "Log 90 minutes to the (Task Name) task"
Built-in safeguards
Every request uses your signed-in Forecast permissions, so the same access rules you have in the application always apply.
Before any update is made, the assistant shows you exactly what will change and waits for your approval.
When making several changes at once, you can deselect anything you want to skip. You'll also be alerted if a change would push work past a project's end date or clash with another allocation.
Visit the MCP Server section in our Help Guides for an introduction to the MCP server, what it can do for you, how to get started, its capabilities, and how it uses your data.
