Why preview the workspace
Each user's view depends on their role, which projects they can see, and the settings on the client. Previewing as a specific user is the quickest way to confirm that the right projects are showing and that nothing is visible that you didn't intend.
Opening the workspace as a client user
From the top navigation, go to Clients > Clients and select the client.
In the left sidebar, select Workspace.
In the Workspace users list, find the user you want to preview as, then select Get login link.
A Login link appears below the user. Select Copy.
Paste the link into your browser. The workspace opens as that user.
Note: Each login link expires after 15 minutes and can only be used once. If the link has expired, select Get login link again to create a new one.
Tip: Open the link in a private or incognito browser window. This keeps the preview separate from your own Forecast session.
What to check
Branding: the logo you uploaded should appear next to the client's name at the top of the sidebar.
Projects: the sidebar and the All projects page should list only the projects this user should see. If one is missing, see Troubleshooting Client Workspace Access.
Project details: open a project and check the phases, tasks and timeline look the way you expect.
Retainers: if the client has retainers and Show retainer usage is on, check the Retainer burn page.
Comments: if Show comments is on, remember that anything you post while previewing is posted as that user and is visible to everyone in the workspace.
The user's name and role are shown at the bottom of the workspace sidebar, so you can confirm which user you're previewing as.
Where to go next
Adding a User to the Client Workspace: change a user's role or visibility if the preview isn't right.
Client Workspace is available as a paid add-on module. To enable it for your team or talk through pricing, reach out to your Account Manager.
