Getting Started with Forecast's Standard Reporting

Forecast’s Standard Reports are designed to help you track business performance by showing how well your overall strategy and vision are being executed through your projects. With Reporting, you gain access to aggregated data across your entire project portfolio. By leveraging both Estimated and actual project data, these reports provide real-time insights into project progress allowing you to spend less time compiling spreadsheets and more time making informed decisions.

Overview of Forecast's Standard Reports

Forecast provides four (4) standard reports that give you immediate access to key insights into your projects and teams. With just a few clicks, you can generate reports such as:

Project Portfolio Report

A financial report used to track the progress of your company's project portfolio. It draws data from across your entire portfolio of projects. 

Utilization Report

A resource report providing insight into your team members' utilization. Compared Estimated or allocated project and task time against time registrations. 

Time Registered Report

A time report for all of the time registered to projects and tasks. 

Task Report

A task report for all tasks existing within your Forecast account. 

Overview of Forecast's Component Reports

Legacy customers who have an active Forecast subscription starting before July 2022, have access to Forecast's Component Reports. Component Reports are no longer supported and are not available for new accounts. Component Reports are currently being phased out and replaced by Standard Reports. 
 
The three (3) component reports are: 
  • People
  • Project
  • Portfolio

Accessing Forecast's Reporting

Access to Forecast's Reports is permission-based. 

Standard Permissions

  • Collaborator/Contributor - No access to reports.
  • Coordinators - Project data for assigned projects only. Financial data is not available in reporting. 
  • Managers - Project data for assigned projects. Includes corresponding financials, revenue only. 
  • Controllers - Project data for assigned projects only. Includes corresponding financials, revenue and cost. 
  • Admins - Full access to all project and financial data in reports.

Custom Permissions

Access to Reporting is available for profiles enabled with:

  • See and manage reports
    Access to the reports tab and ability to create, edit & delete reports.

Report data includes assigned projects only, unless the profile is enabled with:

  • Access all projects and programs
    Access to all projects and programs on the account, independent of being part of the project or program team.

To include financial data in reports, one of the following financial access permission must be enabled: 

  • View financial information
    Access to all financial features including Baseline, Budget, Periods & the Project Portfolio Report - viewing revenue, cost & profit.
  • View financial information, revenue only
    Access to all financial features including Baseline, Budget, Periods & the Project Portfolio Report - viewing only revenue.
Note: Without these permissions, users assigned to the profile will not have access to any financial data in reporting.

To access Forecast's Standard Reports

  1. Click Reports.
  2. Select Standard Reports.
