Question
I am not receiving email notifications from Forecast. Why?
Answer
There are a few reasons you may not receive email notifications. If the following reasons do not apply or have been checked/confirmed, please reach out to Forecast Support.
Self-Tagging
Notifications are not generated if you tag yourself in tasks. This includes all notification types: in-app, email, Slack or MS Teams.
In order to receive an email notification for @mention in a task, the tag must come from another user. Confirm the tag was made by another user and continue troubleshooting as needed.
Similarly, if you are the user making an action that your notifications are enabled for, i.e. a task name is changed, a notification will not be generated. Notifications are generated by actions initiated by other users, not yourself.
Profile Notifications
It is possible you are not receiving email notifications because they are enabled in your profile.
To check your profile for email notifications
- Click the Profile icon at the top right of the page.
- Select Profile from the dropdown.
- Go to Notification Settings.
- Under Notification Types, confirm Enable email notifications is togged on.
- If Enable email notifications is on, review the toggles under Receive updates.
- Confirm the toggle is enabled for the specific notification type.
Whitelisting Forecast
If a user profile is enabled for email notifications and the email address does not appear in the bounced email list, your company's email server may be rejecting the emails.
To confirm, reach out to your internal IT Team and confirm that Forecast emails are whitelisted.
