Tracking time-off ensures your resource availability is reported accurately. This article describes the various ways to enter time-off in Forecast.

How to Enter Time-Off
There are various ways to enter time-off in Forecast. You may use one of the following ways to report time-off depending on your needs and company's workflows:
- Create
- People Schedule
- Integrated HR tracking system (i.e. BambooHR, HiBob)
Create
Create appears throughout the platform, positioned at the top right of each page.
To enter time off using Create
- Click Create in the navigation bar.
- Select Time off from the dropdown.
- Complete the form.
- A new time off entry appears in your timesheet and a new schedule allocation appears in People Schedule.
People Schedule
If you are not permitted access to People Schedule, you will not be able to enter time-off this way.
To enter time off using People Schedule
- Find the resource you are reporting time off for.
- Expand their row in the heatmap.
- Click into the heatmap, drag and release the mouse to open Create New.
- Select Time Off, complete the form and click Create.
- A new time off allocation appears in the heatmap and a new time entry appears in the team member's timesheet.
HR Integration
If your organization utilizes an integrated HR system like BambooHR or HiBob, you will not be permitted to enter time-off in Forecast. Time-off is entered in the integrated system, then synced to Forecast.
To create time off using an integration
- Enter the time-off details in the integrated, third-party system, i.e. BambooHR, HiBob.
- Once submitted in the integrated system, the time-off syncs to Forecast.
- A new timesheet entry and new schedule allocation appear for the user.
