Forecast's Timesheet locking functionality prevents changes to past time entries to avoid errors in your invoicing and reporting. With Timesheet locking past entries can no longer be edited or updated, while team members will no longer be able to add new time entries before the chosen lock date.

Enabling Timesheet Locking
To activate this feature you will need to have an Administrator permission profile in Forecast.
To enable timesheet locking
- Click on Admin on the top bar.
- Head to Time Management.
- Toggle on Timesheet Locking.
Using Timesheet Locking
Once enabled, Administrator permission profile users have the option to lock company timesheets up until a preferred date. This prevents team members to edit and delete existing time entries or add new ones until that date.
To set a timesheet lock
- Click on Resourcing (company name).
- Select Timesheet Entries.
- Click on Set Timesheet Lock on the top right of the page.
- In the pop up click the toggle.
- Click on the calendar to set the date.
- Click Save.
Creating exceptions from Timesheet Locking
Create exceptions when setting a timesheet lock. Team members that are exempt from under the timesheet lock will still be able to log and edit time registrations past the selected date. However, you cannot have the exceptions option if you also have Time Approval enabled.
To create exceptions
- Click on Resourcing (company name).
- Select Timesheet Entries.
- Click Set Timesheet Lock.
- In the pop up click the toggle.
- Click on the calendar to set the date.
- Under Exceptions, select the team members from the dropdown you'd like to exempt from timesheet locking.
- Click Save.
