In Forecast, Admins can add users to Client profiles. These users are known as guest users. Guest users have limited access to the platform. The actions they can perform depend on the permissions assigned by a Forecast Admin. This article outlines how guest users use Forecast to collaborate on projects and tasks.

What can Guest Users Access?
Guest users have limited platform access, accessing a project's tasks only. Depending on permissions, guest users can take various actions on tasks. Tasks are accessible from My Work or Task Board.
Task actions available to guest users

- Add a new task
- Add/edit estimates
- Add/remove task assignees
- Assign or edit a task's role
- Adjust task start and end dates
- Create calendar meetings
- Add comments and tag people
- Flag tasks as a high priority, bugs or blocked
- Add labels to tasks
- Add subtasks
- Attach files to tasks
- Delete tasks
Guest users are not permitted to:
- View or edit a project's Scoping, Sprints, Timeline, Financials, or Settings.
- Create or modify workflow columns in Task Board.
Using the Forecast Platform
The navigation ribbon includes various pages and tools that allow guest users to access different areas of the platform. My Work and Projects are located at the top left, providing access to tasks and projects assigned to the guest user. On the right, alongside the profile icon, are the Create button and four additional icons, each offering specific functionality.

- Create: Enables the guest user to create new tasks.
- Search: Displayed as the magnifying glass icon. Search allows the guest user to quickly find their projects and tasks.
- Recent Activity: Displayed as the clock icon. Here the guest user can see the projects they've recently opened or been working in.
- Notifications: Displayed as the bell icon. Here the guest user will find all in-app notifications as per the Notification Settings configuration in their user profile.
- Help: Displayed as the question mark icon. Use Help to access Forecast's Help Center or submit a support request.
Accessing My Work
My Work contains My Tasks and My Notifications. My Tasks includes all tasks assigned to the guest user while My Notifications provides access to in-app notifications.
My Tasks
My Tasks displays all tasks assigned to a guest user. Use My Tasks to access tasks, review work and collaborate with the project team.
To access My Tasks

- Click My Work in the navigation bar.
- Select My Tasks from the dropdown.
- Review tasks, check status and confirm deadlines.

- Overdue tasks have a deadline in the past.
- This Week includes all tasks with a deadline this week or in the future.
- Done includes tasks in the Done workflow status.

- Use the date picker or arrows to scroll back in time or ahead into the future.
- Apply a filter to identify specific tasks based on their deadline or project.
- Add or remove columns using the show/hide (Eye) menu.

To access My Notifications
- Click My Work in the navigation bar.
- Select My Notifications from the dropdown.
- Review notifications, apply filters, or mark all as read.
Accessing Projects
Guest users have access to the projects they are assigned to. These projects are listed on the Projects page, categorized by project stage. Expand each stage to view its projects. Projects can be displayed in either list or card format. Use the Show/Hide (Eye) menu to add project details such as Client, Project Owner, Status, and Dates.
Guest users have access to a project's Task Board only. Use Task Board to access tasks, review work and collaborate with the project team.
To access Projects and Task Board
- Click Projects in the navigation ribbon.
- Select All Projects from the dropdown.
- Click on a project to open its Task Board.
