You can now add a supporting breakdown of completed work beneath a fixed-price invoice line, without changing what’s charged.
What’s new
Fixed-price invoices still show a single charged line for the agreed amount. Beneath it, you can now add an optional, clearly labeled section listing the work completed, with hours and dates only.
This section has no rates or line values, so it doesn’t change or itemize what the client is billed.
You control this per invoice with the new Include work detail option (Yes/No), which works the same way as the existing Include expenses setting. The option is also available for fixed-price retainer periods.
How to add work detail to an invoice
- Create an invoice on a fixed-price project.
- Set Include work detail to Yes.
- Select the work detail period for the work you want to show.
- Preview the work detail section and remove any rows you don’t want included before sending.
Note: Work detail appears on the invoice PDF only. The invoice description, which is the field used by invoicing integrations, is unchanged.
