This release focuses on improving financial accuracy, increasing visibility into client and contact information, and expanding control over how teams work.
We've introduced enhancements across retainer billing, currency support, exchange rate history, client and contact management, and task permissions to help teams streamline workflows and better tailor Forecast to their needs.
In this release, you'll find what's new at a glance, more detail on each update, what's coming next, and how to stay on top of future one-off releases.

What's New at a Glance
Expenses on Fixed Price Retainer Periods — Expenses can now be associated with a Fixed Price retainer period, so they draw down that period's budget instead of sitting disconnected from it.
Expanded Currency Support — The supported currency catalog has grown from 31 to approximately 150 currencies.
Date-Effective Exchange Rates — Exchange rates are now tied to the date range they were in effect for, so past reports and margins stay accurate no matter what rates you add later.
Improved Clients & Contacts — Clients now have a dedicated profile page, and Contacts give you a proper way to track individual people at a client organization. This is the first step in a broader effort to build out client and contact capabilities in Forecast.
Tightened Task Permissions: Create, Edit, and Delete — Admins can now control task creation, editing, and deletion through a new Manage Tasks permission set, so teams can separate who defines a task from who works on it.
Feature Details
Expenses on Fixed Price Retainer Periods
Expenses can now be linked to a specific Fixed Price retainer period, so they draw down that period's budget instead of sitting disconnected from it.
Time and expenses now sit side by side on Retainer Tracking, giving you one view of how a period's budget has been used.
Locking a period locks its associated expenses too, keeping financials and invoicing accurate.
This means one unified view of period consumption on Retainer Tracking, and locked periods that lock their expenses too, so your invoicing stays accurate.
See the full release notes for this feature for step-by-step instructions and edge cases (invoicing behavior, locked periods, reporting) — the relevant help guides are linked there too.
Expanded Currency Support
The currency catalog has expanded from 31 to approximately 150 currencies, matching Sage Intacct.
Currency selectors now use a consistent format (Code (Symbol) - Name) and standard symbol placement.
No action required — this is available automatically, and existing financial data is unchanged.
You'll also see standardized currency naming and symbol formatting across selectors, so currencies are easier to tell apart.
See the full release notes for this feature for the complete list of what's changed and where you'll see it across the app — the relevant help guide is linked there too.
Date-Effective Exchange Rates
Exchange rates are now date-effective — each rate is tied to the date range it applied for, and past rates are locked and can't be overwritten.
Reports and margins stay accurate for any past date, even after you add newer rates.
No more reconciling by hand in a side spreadsheet.
Each currency now keeps a full, uneditable rate history, and any new rate you add only applies from its start date forward, so nothing you add later can quietly reshape past figures.
No action is required, and your existing currencies, rate cards, invoices, and financial data are unchanged.
See the full release notes for this feature for details on managing your rate history and how it's protected — the relevant help guide is linked there too.
Improved Clients & Contacts
Clients now have their own entry in top navigation, a full list page, and a dedicated profile page.
Contacts give you a proper way to track individual people at a client organization, including guest user access and a primary contact.
Contacts are now usable across Projects, Reporting (Project Performance Report), and Invoicing.
This is the first step in a broader effort to build out client and contact capabilities in Forecast.
See the full release notes for this feature for more detail — relevant help guides will be linked there as they're published.
Tightened Task Permissions: Create, Edit, and Delete
Admins can now control task creation, editing, and deletion through a new Manage Tasks permission set (three independent toggles: Create, Edit, Delete).
A new toggle on the Contributor (Collaborator seat) profile lets Admins remove access to the full Manage Tasks permission set.
- All three permissions are enabled by default for every existing permission profile. With this, no existing behavior is expected to change unless an Admin goes into the permission profiles and intentionally updates the permissions.
- For the Contributor (Collaborator seat) profile, the toggle in the permissions settings enables Admins to strip out the three permissions from this otherwise locked profile. The toggle is off by default, consistent with the permissions being enabled by default for existing permission profiles.
This protects task dates, estimates, and assignments from unwanted changes, and lays the groundwork for more controlled, automation- and AI-driven workflows down the line.
See the full release notes for this feature for the complete breakdown of what each permission covers and how to set it up - the relevant help guides are linked there too.
