Dropdown-list style custom fields
Previously, it was only possible to have “Free Text” (string-based) custom fields in Forecast. Customers asked for dropdown-list style custom fields in order to reduce errors possible in manually entered strings and to ensure data hygiene.
We are introducing dropdown custom fields which are available on the same entities (Project, Phase, Task, Time Entry) as Free Text custom fields.
- For Dropdown custom fields, the list of dropdown options is defined by an Admin user.
- End users with the appropriate permissions can then select the appropriate option from the list in the relevant context (i.e. on the Project/Phase/Task or Time Entry).
Custom Fields in Advanced Analytics
It is now possible to pull custom fields applied to Projects or Tasks through to Advanced Analytics for reporting purposes and filtering.
- Advanced Analytics supports reporting on up to 20 custom fields for projects and 10 custom fields for tasks.
Simply select one of the Advanced Analytics Reference fields when editing the custom field from the Admin page. That reference field (e.g. Project Custom Field 2 or Task Custom Field 3) will then reflect the custom field value as a project or task parameter in Advanced Analytics.
Improved Custom Fields Admin Page
The Custom Fields Admin page has been overhauled to facilitate this expanded functionality.
