Release readiness announcement: improved actuals - more accurate representation of people’s roles on time registrations

On the 6th of March, the following will be made generally available:

1. Improved actuals - more accurate view of people’s role changes over time.
2. Registering time with roles different from a person's project or main role.

Improved actuals - a more accurate view of people’s role changes over time

To offer a more accurate representation of project actuals over time, we extended* the Forecast time registrations data model with a record of the person’s project role alongside every time entry - changing someone’s project or main role will not change their past time entries and other dependent data points like invoice line items.

Registering time with roles different from a person's project or main role

To offer greater flexibility in supporting your time tracking process, we introduced* a time management setting, “Allow selection of role on time entries”, which enables more accurate time tracking when people have multiple roles in a project.

Users with permission profile “Manage other person’s time registrations” can edit roles on time registrations using “Timesheet Entries” and “Timesheet Approval” (if enabled) pages regardless of time management settings if the time entries are not locked.
