In Forecast, it is possible to share files to keep track of material or deliverables made for a particular project or a task. Files can be uploaded and shared both in projects and in tasks.

Users can upload several file types in both projects and tasks, such as:

- EPS

- INDD

- PPT
- PSD
- RAR

Sharing Files in Tasks
In Forecast, users can upload files within an individual task. Once the files are uploaded they can be found just below the task description. It is possible to download the file just by clicking on it.
To upload files in tasks:
- Open the task where the file should be added.
- Within the task popup, click on the three dots icon on the top-right.
- Select the 'Attach Files from Computer' option or the 'Attach files from Google Drive' option if the Google Drive integration is implemented.
- Select the file that should be uploaded and upload it.
Sharing Files in Projects
Users can upload files directly to the Project's Files page.
To share a file in a project
- Click on Projects from the top bar.
- Select All Projects from the dropdown.
- Select your project.
- In the left side panel, select Files.
- If the file needs to be stored in a folder either select an existing one or click New Folder.
- Within the folder, or the main Files page, click on the Upload button on the top right.
- From the dropdown select either Choose a File or Google Drive.
- Pick the file either from the local computer or the Google Drive account that has been integrated into the Forecast account.
- Files may also be updated via drag/drop.
- From file explorer, click the file you need to upload.
- Drag it to the project's Files page and release.
- The file will upload and appear in the files list.
Organizing your files
It is possible to organize your uploads, search for specific files or filter based on file type using a project's Files page.
Create a folder
In the Files tab, it is possible to create folders to better organize all the files uploaded into the project.
To create a folder
- Open the project.
- In the left side panel, select Files.
- Click New Folder.
- Enter the folder name and click Add.
- Upload new files or move existing files into the folder as needed.
Move a file
You can move a file from an existing folder to a task, or back to the main Files page. It is also possible to move files in bulk by selecting each file and using the 'Bulk edit' button on the top of the page.
To move a file
- Open the project.
- In the left side panel, select Files.
- Locate the file within the folder.
- Click on the three-dots on the right side of the file.
- Alternatively, tick the box to the left of the file name to select the file, then click Bulk Edit at the top right.
- Select the action required from the dropdown.
- Download: Download the file to your local machine.
- Delete: Delete the file and remove it from the project.
- Move file to task: to move the file to a specific task within the project.
- Remove from folder: to remove the task from the folder and place it on the main Files page.
Drag to a folder
Files can be moved around by dragging and dropping them into folders within the Files page.
To drag files into a folder
- Open the project.
- In the left side panel, select Files.
- Click and hold the file you want to move.
- Move the item over to the folder and release it.
Delete a file or folder
Files and folders can be deleted at any time. Deleting a file or folder is final and once deleted, it is not possible to recover.
To delete a file or a folder
- Open the project.
- In the left side panel, select Files.
- Locate the file or the folder.
- Click on the three-dots icon next to the file or folder.
- Select Delete.
