Forecast's integration with Xero allows for improved financial monitoring and accessibility. With the integration in place, you can export invoices, import clients and convert purchase orders to expenses.
This article includes:
- Setting up the Xero integration
- Connecting to Multiple Xero Instances
- Disconnecting a Xero Account from Forecast
Setting up the Xero Integration
The Xero integration is connected by a Forecast Admin. The user performing the setup must also be an active Xero user.
To set up the Xero integration
- Click Admin in the navigation ribbon.
- Select Integrations from the dropdown.
- Scroll down to Accounting & billing.
- Click on Xero.
- From the Xero integration page, click Add.
- You will be redirected to the Xero login page if you do not have an instance running already.
- Enter your active Xero user credentials and click Log In.
- On the authorization page, click Allow access.
- The integration is now complete. The name of the Xero account will appear in the integrations menu on Forecast.
Connecting to Multiple Xero Instances
It is possible to connect to multiple Xero accounts to a single Forecast instance. To do so follow the steps from the Xero Integration Setup.
When importing data from Xero, data from all available tenants will be shown. For example, when importing customers, the list of customers is drawn from all tenants. If multiple Xero accounts are connected to Forecast, exported invoices sync to the Xero account where the client to which the invoice is tied resides.
Disconnecting a Xero Account from Forecast
Xero accounts can be removed from Forecast at any time. If a Xero account is removed from Forecast, all invoices, purchase orders and client profiles are no longer linked to Xero. If you reconnect to the Xero account in the future, resyncing clients and exporting invoices may result in duplication.
To remove a Xero account from Forecast
- Click Admin in the navigation ribbon.
- Select Integrations from the dropdown.
- Scroll down to Accounting & billing.
- Click on Xero.
- Click Remove on the right.
- Review the warning and click Remove.
- The Xero account is no longer connected to Forecast.
