Move to JIRA makes it possible to create new JIRA issues or epics from existing Forecast tasks or phases in projects synced with JIRA.

How to create new JIRA issues from existing Forecast tasks
Once a project is synced with JIRA it is possible to sync existing tasks from Forecast and create new JIRA issues.
Creating new JIRA issues from existing Forecast tasks

Click Projects in the top bar.

Select All Projects from the dropdown.

Open the project you wish to sync.

In the left side panel, click Scoping.

Determine which option is best, then follow the steps below to complete the move.
To move tasks using three dots menu
- Continuing from step 4 above, find the task that needs to be moved to JIRA.
- Click on the three dots at the far right of the task.
- Select Move to Jira.
- In Create 1 issue in Jira, select the corresponding JIRA Issue Type.
- Click Create.
To move tasks using Task Modal

From Scoping (or Task Board) click on the task to open Task Modal.

Click Move to Jira displayed at the top left of Description.

In Create 1 issue in Jira, select the corresponding JIRA Issue Type.

Click Create.
To move tasks using right-click actions menu

From Scoping, find the task to move to Jira.

Right click to open the task actions menu.

Select Move to Jira.

In Create 1 issue in Jira, select the corresponding JIRA Issue Type.

Using Bulk Task Actions to create new JIRA issues
When multiple tasks exist in Forecast, it is possible to bulk move them to create new JIRA issues. Projects must be synced with a JIRA project or epics before bulk moving tasks to JIRA.
To bulk move tasks to Jira

From Scoping, select the tasks to move to Jira by ticking each box on the far left.

The multi-select drawer will open at the bottom, indicating the count of selected tasks.

Once all tasks are selected, click Move Tasks.

Select Move to Jira.

Create issues in Jira displays the selected task count.

Select the corresponding JIRA issue type.

Click on Create.
Creating JIRA epics from Forecast tasks
Like issues, JIRA epics may also be created from Forecast tasks. Forecast projects must be synced to a JIRA project with the setting to sync JIRA Versions or Epics as Forecast Phases. Additionally, JIRA epics may only be created from Forecast tasks that contain subtasks. The option is not available when syncing first level tasks only.
To create a new JIRA epic from an existing Forecast task
- Click Projects in the top bar.
- Open the project in question.
- Click on Settings in the left side panel.
- Click Integrations.
- In the JIRA section, confirm the project is synced with JIRA with the appropriate sync setting, Versions/Releases.
- Go to Scoping.
- Select the main task to sync by ticking the box to the left of the task name.
- All subtasks will automatically be selected when selecting the main task.
- In the drawer at the bottom of the page, click Move Tasks.
- Select Move to JIRA in the menu that displays.
- Create issues in JIRA window will appear.
- By default, Sync Task Hierarchy and Create First Level Tasks as Epics will be ticked.
- Select the Issue Type for 2nd Level tasks in the dropdown.
- Select the Issue Type for 3rd Level tasks in the dropdown, if applicable.
- Click Create.
- The main task will create a new epic in JIRA with all other tasks following the hierarchy defined.
Confirming Forecast tasks exist as JIRA issues
Once tasks have been successfully moved to JIRA it is possible to confirm they exist as JIRA issues.
To confirm issue/s exists in JIRA

Click on the task and open the task module.

JIRA issue will appear at the top left of the task Description.

Click the link to open the issue in JIRA.
Creating new JIRA issues or epics from existing Forecast phases
Like with tasks, it is also possible to create new JIRA epics or issues from existing Forecast phases using the project's Scoping page. Tasks are not automatically moved to JIRA along with their phase, providing flexibility over which tasks need to exist in JIRA and which do not. Any tasks that must also exist in JIRA will need to be reviewed and moved independently. Once a phase is synced with JIRA it will display the JIRA logo to reflect.
To create new JIRA issues or epics from existing Forecast phases

Click Projects in the top bar.

Select All Projects from the dropdown.

Open the project you wish to sync.

In the left side panel, click Scoping.

Find the phase not synced to JIRA.

Click the three dots at the far right of the Phase bar.

Select Move to Jira.

Click Create to confirm the move.

Phase moved to JIRA notification will appear at lower left.

Review the tasks within the phase to determine if any/all tasks also need to be moved to Jira.

Follow the steps in Creating new JIRA issues from existing Forecast tasks to complete the task moves as required.
