Overview Client syncing and invoice exporting
The process of linking Forecast client profiles to a e-conomic account's customer profiles, or importing said customers as clients in Forecast, is necessary to export invoices to e-conomic from Forecast.
One of the required options that need to be filled when exporting an invoice to e-conomic is the Customer name. To export an invoice it simply must fall under a customer profile, otherwise, it cannot be exported.
Importing e-conomic customer profiles to Forecast
Forecast's integration with e-conomic allows for customer profiles that reside in a e-conomic account to be imported into a Forecast account. This means that an Admin does not have to recreate manually their customer profiles in Forecast if they integrate with e-conomic. They can just import them once the integration is set up. Use this option if you do not have already client profiles in Forecast, if you do have them already, jump to the steps listed under the section Linking existing Forecast client profiles to e-conomic customer profiles.
To import e-conomic customer profiles to Forecast
- Click on Admin in the top bar.
- Select Clients from the dropdown.
- After the integration with e-conomic is set up there will be a new button named 'Import from e-conomic'.
- Click on the Import from e-conomic button. A smaller pop-up window will appear.
- From the pop up select the customers that should be brought over to Forecast by checking the empty box next to their name. It is possible to also select all of them by checking the top box and to also search for specific ones by typing their name.
- After selecting all of the customers that should be brought over click Create Clients.
This process will bring over all of the selected customers into your Forecast account and they will be automatically linked with their profiles in e-conomic. To confirm this, check for the e-conomic logo that will appear at the end of the client's line in the Clients tab.
Linking existing Forecast client profiles to e-conomic customer profiles
There is a good chance that client profiles have already been created in the Forecast account before the integration with e-conomic was set up, and most of those clients already reside on both platforms. In this case, if customer profiles are already imported from e-conomic to Forecast, they would end up with duplicate profiles for the same customer.
To avoid this, Forecast allows administrators to manually link a Forecast client to an e-conomic customer from the profile of the client in Forecast.
To manually link existing Forecast clients to e-conomic customers
- Click on Admin in the top bar.
- Select Clients from the dropdown.
- Find the client that should be linked to an e-conomic customer and click on their name to access the profile.
- While in the profile, scroll down until the e-conomic section is visible.
- Click on the dropdown button.
- Search for the e-conomic customer by typing the name.
- Click on the name of the e-conomic customer.
- A smaller pop-up window will appear with the option to cancel or link.
- Click on the Link option to successfully link the profiles across the platforms.
Unlinking Forecast client profiles from e-conomic
If it is no longer necessary to have a Forecast client profile linked to its counterpart in e-conomic, Forecast allows for the profiles to be unlinked. This has to be done manually for each client profile by an administrator.
To unlink a Forecast client profile from e-conomic
- Click on Admin in the top bar.
- Select Clients from the dropdown.
- Find the client that should be linked to an e-conomic customer and click on their name to access the profile.
- While in the profile, scroll down until the e-conomic section is visible.
- Click on the Unlink button.
- A smaller pop-up window will appear asking for confirmation.
- Click on Unlink a second time to finalize the process.
The client's profile will no longer be linked to an e-conomic profile. If needed, it's always possible to link it once again by following the steps under the Linking existing Forecast client profiles to e-conomic customer profiles section in this article.
