In Forecast there are various different ways of registering time. The following article discusses these in further detail.

Registering time using the general timer
The built-in timer allows users to easily log time on tasks. It is available in the web browser version of Forecast and in our mobile app too, available for both Android and iOS. Real-time running across both the web version and the mobile apps allows you to , which makes you able to start the timer on your laptop, and stop it on your phone.
To find the general timer, navigate to the top right-hand side of the screen, where you'll find it located next to the search bar. If you're having troubles finding the timer, click on your profile icon and select show timer to have it appear.
To log time with the general timer
- Press play to start the timer.
- Press pause to temporarily stop the timer.
- Press stop to stop it altogether.
- Once stopped, choose to log time on a task, project or non-project.
Registering time on a task using the timer
The task timer works on the same principle as the general timer, but strictly on a task level.
To log time with the task timer
- Click the dots on the task modal and select show timer.
- Press start.
- Press stop.
- A pop up window will prompt you to register your previous timer data.
Registering time manually on a task
Register time on the actual task itself from the any project that you are currently working on.
To register time manually on a task
- Click on a task to open the task modal.
- Select time entries on the top panel.
- Enter the time entry.
Note: All time registration inputs equal to or above 10 are treated as minutes, not hours. Add "h" after the amount to register hours instead. - Select the date.
- Leave any notes if desired.
- Click add.
Adding a new time entry
To add a new time entry
- Click on the +NEW button in the top right corner.
- Select time entry.
- Select whether you want to log time on a task, internal time or time off.
- If logging time on a task:
- Select the project.
- Select the task.
- Enter the time entry.
Note: All time registration inputs equal to or above 10 are treated as minutes, not hours. Add "h" after the amount to register hours instead. - Select the date.
- Leave any notes if desired.
- Click Add.
Registering time on your timesheet
Timesheets allow you to register time to all projects you are assigned to. Admins are able to log time on behalf of other team members. To do so, select a team member from the dropdown menu on the top-left in My Timesheets and follow steps below.
To register time through your timesheets
- Navigate to My Timesheets, under My Work.
- Select the day.
- Select whether you want to log time on a task, internal time or time off from the panel on the right.
- If logging time on a task:
- Select the project.
- Select the task.
- Enter the time entry.
- Add any necessary notes.
Below your calendar you will find the Quickly find and add section, which presents you with 5 additional categories to make logging time on tasks easier:
- Suggested - task, internal time and time off categories suggested by AI.
- Starred - highlights your starred tasks.
- Recent - includes tasks that you have recently logged time on.
- Planned - tasks planned to be worked on during the day/week you have selected.
- In progress - tasks assigned to you with a workflow status set to in progress.
Editing and deleting time entries
Time registrations can easily be edited or deleted in Forecast. However, time entries that belong to projects that have already been invoiced can no longer be edited or deleted.
To edit a time entry
- Go to My Work.
- Click on My Timesheets.
- Select a day from the calendar.
- Scroll down to see your time registrations for that day.
- Select the time entry.
- Click the three-dots icon.
- Click Edit time entry.
To delete a time entry
- Go to My Work.
- Click on My Timesheets.
- Select a day from the calendar.
- Scroll down to see your time registrations for that day.
- Select the time entry.
- Click the three-dots icon.
- Click Delete.
