Connecting Forecast to Sage Intacct allows for projects and tasks to be synced from Forecast, so your organization can stay up to date and informed about the status of each project directly in Sage Intacct. Syncing Forecast Projects and Tasks with Sage Intacct
With the integration there is the option to either sync a Forecast project to an existing Sage project or to automatically export from Forecast in order to recreate projects and tasks in Sage. Sync to an existing Sage Intacct project if you have already created the project in Sage and want to ensure Forecast updates it, as the work moves along.
If you are also looking to sync time entries (see Exporting Timesheets to Sage Intacct for more information), note that exporting tasks from Forecast is necessary to ensure timesheets entries at a task level are synced to Sage.
To synchronize projects and tasks to Sage Intacct
- Browse to the project you wish to sync to Sage Intacct.
- To configure the sync you have two options. No matter which option is chosen the steps are the same:
Option 1: Configure the sync from the Project Settings > Integrations > Sage Intacct section.
Option 2: Configure the sync from the Project Financials > Expenses page on the sidebar. - Click on 'Sync Project with Sage Intacct'. This will open a pop-up window.
- In the pop-up window fill out the following:
- Project location: Select the location the project should be stored in within Sage Intacct. This dropdown shows all of the locations in your Sage Intacct instance.
- Project: Here it is possible to either select a project from the list that already exist in Sage Intacct or create a new project in your accounting system.
- Click on New Project from the list to create a new project in Sage Intacct and complete the fields within the pop-up:-
- Project Name: The name the project should have in Sage.
- Project Category: Select the category that the project should have in your Sage Intacct instance.
- Client: Select the Client from the list of the Sage Intacct customers previously synced with Forecast.
- Location: Select the location for the project, useful if you have subsidiaries registered in Sage Intacct.

- In the next screen, it is possible to export Tasks from Forecast by selecting the following:
- Item: Select an item for the tasks you wish to export, this list is populated by the items within your Sage Intacct instance.
- Tasks: Select any tasks that you want to export to Sage from the Forecast Project.
- Your project is now synced with Sage Intacct. The project data will be updated regularly from Sage Intacct. If additional tasks are added to a project, repeat the above steps to update the sync.
