Why does an invoice reference change after exporting to Quickbooks?

I created an invoice but after I exported it to Quickbooks the invoice reference changed, why?

Answer

A reference cannot be used more than once in Quickbooks. When the invoice is exported, Quickbooks will identify it as already existing and change the reference. The reference will then appear as changed in the invoice in Quickbooks.
